ProsperUs Trainer Application

ProsperUs is seeking applications for trainers to deliver a variety of ProsperUs programming, including, entrepreneur training, subject-matter workshops, group technical assistance, and one-on-one coaching. Our trainers facilitate at various community partner organizations throughout Detroit, Hamtramck, Highland Park, Inkster, and other areas in Wayne County.

Eligibility:

ProsperUs will consider applications on a rolling basis with an emphasis on the following criteria:
- You have a meaningful background in entrepreneurship and proven expertise in small business development with an eagerness to support a variety of business types.
- You have an understanding of adult-learning techniques and experience implementing those techniques in the classroom and in one-on-one settings.
- You have a personal and professional commitment to intersectional equity, including the dismantling of racism and other forms of oppression that exist in the communities ProsperUs serves, specifically Black, Latinx, Arab, immigrant, and low- to moderate-income communities.
- You have knowledge, experience, and credibility within neighborhoods and communities like those that ProsperUs serves. You are familiar with community-based organizations (CBOs), community development financial institutions (CDFIs), and nonprofits the region.
- You are a resident and/or business owner in Wayne County.

However, as many entrepreneurs know, running a small business comes with unique challenges, from juggling daily operations and managing finances to navigating a competitive landscape. That’s where the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program comes in, offering a transformative, no-cost opportunity to help you learn how to work on your business and not just in your business.

Eligibility:

We look for applicants who are passionate about growing their business and creating jobs in their communities who generally meet these criteria:
- Small business owner or co-owner
- Business revenues over $75,000 in the most recent fiscal year
- Business in operation for 2+ years
- Business with 2+ employees (including the owner)
